Designer/Engineering Technician

Position Type: Full-Time

Summary:

Curry & Associates, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated engineering technician/designer to join our group of successful professionals who provide engineering services to communities and clients throughout Indiana. We are seeking to hire an engineering technician/designer who possesses sound technical knowledge and design skills, a desire to partner on important projects in drinking water and wastewater and desires to work in a positive and rewarding environment. 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist engineers in preparing design drawings for construction of water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and related infrastructure.

  • Prepare design drawings utilizing AutoCAD and Civil 3D

  • Understand construction methods and impact on design implementation.

  • Analyze and interpret spatial data to produce maps, reports, and other products.

 

Requirements:

  • 1-5+ years of relevant experience designing water, wastewater, water resources, and/or other infrastructure projects for public and non-profit entities

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field, or

  • Associate degree in applicable field with 2 years of experience, or

  • Qualifying higher level of experience may substitute for education

  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D

  • Possess a solid grasp of civil engineering project plan development

  • Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and comply with all applicable safety codes and requirements.

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Ability to assist engineers and land surveyor with field data collection.

  • Ability to assist engineering team with project permitting documents.

  • Experience with construction monitoring activities.
